Budapest: Budapest considers attacks on infrastructure through which Russian energy supplies enter Hungary unacceptable and welcomes the mutual moratorium on strikes on energy facilities by the parties to the conflict in Ukraine, Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto said on Wednesday.
According to Namibia Press Agency, Szijjarto emphasized the importance of securing the energy infrastructure that delivers Russian energy supplies to Hungary. He expressed his agreement with Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak, stating that such attacks are deemed unacceptable. Szijjarto highlighted an agreement between Russia and the US that bans attacks on energy infrastructure, which he believes serves Hungary's national interests.
Szijjarto communicated these positions via social media, reinforcing Budapest's stance on the necessity of protecting energy routes essential for the country's energy security.
