Smolyan: Bulgarian authorities have dismantled an illegal firearms production workshop, seizing over 280 pistols and rifles, and arresting two suspects, the country's Interior Ministry announced Thursday.According to Namibia Press Agency, the operation took place Tuesday in the town of Smolyan, located 245 km southeast of Sofia. Among the confiscated firearms were 244 pistols and 30 rifles, most of which had been converted from gas-operated to combat-ready weapons.Authorities also seized dozens of detonator caps, hundreds of barrels, various weapon mechanisms and parts, as well as several thousand cartridges, some of which had been similarly converted from gas to live ammunition.The Interior Ministry described this as "the largest amount of illegal weapons seized by law enforcement authorities in the country ever." The investigation is ongoing.
