Castillo Brace Fires Lanus Past Sarmiento

Buenos aires: Rodrigo Castillo scored twice as Lanus secured its first win of the Argentine Primera Division Clausura season with a 2-0 away victory over Sarmiento on Friday. The visitors took the lead in the 10th minute when Castillo met Franco Watson's floating free-kick with a bullet header into the top-left corner. The 26-year-old striker doubled the advantage just before halftime with a first-time effort from close range following Felipe Pena's cross.

According to Namibia Press Agency, it marked Lanus' first win in three games this campaign and leaves the club ninth in the 15-team Group B standings. Sarmiento is 12th and still searching for its first victory. In other Primera Division fixtures on Friday, Union Santa Fe was held to a goalless home draw by Tigre and Belgrano drew 0-0 at Independiente Rivadavia.
