Sichuan: The China Earthquake Administration (CEA) on Thursday initiated a level-IV emergency service response following a 5.4-magnitude earthquake that occurred in Xinlong County, located in the Ganzi Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture of southwest China's Sichuan Province.
According to Namibia Press Agency, the China Earthquake Networks Center (CENC) reported that the earthquake struck at 1:17 p.m. on Thursday, with a depth of 10 km. In response to the seismic event, the CEA received briefings from both the CENC and the Sichuan Earthquake Agency and emphasized the need for strengthened monitoring and ongoing assessment of the situation.
A working team from the Sichuan Earthquake Agency has been sent to the impacted areas to aid local governments in their emergency response efforts.
