Beijing: Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi on Saturday exchanged congratulatory messages with Malian Foreign Minister Abdoulaye Diop on the 65th anniversary of diplomatic ties between the two countries. Wang, who is also a member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, highlighted the steadfast support shared by the peoples of China and Mali over the years in their pursuit of independent development. The cooperation between the two nations has been marked by effective collaboration in economic and social development, fostering unity and development among the Global South. Wang emphasized the genuine brotherhood and partnership that exists between China and Mali.
According to Namibia Press Agency, Wang Yi expressed his commitment to collaborating with Abdoulaye Diop to implement the strategic partnership envisioned by Chinese President Xi Jinping and Malian President Assimi Goita. The focus is on nurturing the friendship and strengthening cooperation to ensure a lasting bond between the peoples of both nations.
Abdoulaye Diop acknowledged that the Mali-China relationship has withstood international challenges over the past 65 years, continually deepening and offering mutual benefits. He praised the bilateral cooperation as sincere, solid, friendly, and mutually advantageous, which has significantly benefited the populations of both countries. Diop is keen to collaborate with the Chinese side to transform new opportunities arising from the elevation of bilateral relations into tangible actions. He expressed his hopes for the further strengthening of friendly and cooperative relations, enhancing the prosperity of both nations.
