Chinese Shares Close Mixed with Gains in Gaming and Power Supply Sectors

Beijing: Chinese stocks experienced a mixed trading session on Thursday, as the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index saw a slight decrease of 0.01 percent, closing at 3,853.3 points. Meanwhile, the Shenzhen Component Index reported a rise of 0.67 percent, ending the day at 13,445.9 points.

According to Namibia Press Agency, the combined turnover for the Shanghai and Shenzhen indices was recorded at 2.37 trillion yuan, approximately 333.25 billion U.S. dollars, reflecting an increase from the previous trading day's turnover of 2.33 trillion yuan. The sectors that showed positive performance included gaming and power supply equipment, whereas stocks in the precious metals, port shipping, and gas sectors experienced notable declines.

The ChiNext Index, which follows China's Nasdaq-style board of growth enterprises, demonstrated a robust performance by gaining 1.58 percent, closing at 3,235.76 points on Thursday.
