Yujiang: A decade after founding Rokid, entrepreneur Zhu Mingming demonstrated the potential of AI-integrated eyewear at an economic forum, capturing widespread attention. Standing at the podium, he used his AI glasses to navigate through virtual slides, sparking viral interest on Chinese social media.

According to Namibia Press Agency, Zhu, also known as "Misa," recently displayed the same Rokid Glasses model at an experience store in Yujiang District, Yingtan City, highlighting the region's reputation as a trade and production hub for eyewear. Zhu emphasized how the glasses seamlessly fit into daily life, allowing him to interact with virtual content while engaging with the audience.

The Rokid Glasses, weighing just 49 grams, have overcome past limitations of bulkiness and inadequate AI capabilities. Zhu attributes the progress to advancements in AI technology, making the glasses a potential everyday device. The glasses' features include social media browsing, real-time translations, and AI-generated answers, powered by leading Chinese AI models like DeepSeek and Doubao.

Zhu revealed that Rokid invests 90 percent of its funding into research and development, setting it apart as an R and D-driven company. With a price of around 3,000 yuan, Rokid aims to make smart glasses accessible compared to international models. Despite the success, fulfilling orders remains a challenge, with over 300,000 units sold.

Rokid plans to transform the traditional eyewear industry in Yujiang by establishing a production base and collaborating with local colleges to train technicians. Zhu remains optimistic about the future of smart glasses, viewing them as the next transformative platform after smartphones.
