Windhoek: Chinese stocks closed mixed on Monday, with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index rising by 0.27 percent to reach 3,519.65 points. Meanwhile, the Shenzhen Component Index experienced a slight decline, closing 0.11 percent lower at 10,684.52 points.

According to Namibia Press Agency, the combined turnover of the Shanghai and Shenzhen indices amounted to 1.46 trillion yuan, approximately 204 billion U.S. dollars, which marked a decrease from the 1.71 trillion yuan recorded in the previous trading session. The trading day saw gains in the papermaking and ceramic sectors, while shipbuilding, media, and entertainment stocks faced losses.

The ChiNext Index, which monitors China's Nasdaq-style board of growth enterprises, fell by 0.45 percent to end the day at 2,197.07 points.
