Beijing: Chinese stocks closed lower on Friday, with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index down 0.12 percent to 3,635.13 points. The Shenzhen Component Index also experienced a decline, closing 0.26 percent lower at 11,128.67 points.
According to Namibia Press Agency, the combined turnover of the Shanghai Composite and Shenzhen Component indices stood at 1.71 trillion yuan, approximately 239.6 billion U.S. dollars. This marked a decrease from the previous trading day's turnover of 1.83 trillion yuan.
Sectors such as high-speed railway, mega-hydropower, and electric power industries saw gains. In contrast, the e-commerce and semiconductor sectors faced significant losses. Additionally, the ChiNext Index, which tracks China's Nasdaq-style board of growth enterprises, fell by 0.38 percent, closing at 2,333.96 points.
