Chinese Stock Markets Experience Gains with Precious Metals and Electronics Leading

Beijing: Chinese stocks experienced gains on Monday, with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index rising by 0.22 percent to close at 3,828.58 points. Meanwhile, the Shenzhen Component Index recorded a 0.67 percent increase, ending the trading day at 13,157.97 points.

According to Namibia Press Agency, the combined turnover of the Shanghai and Shenzhen indices was 2.12 trillion yuan, approximately 298 billion U.S. dollars, which is slightly lower than the 2.32 trillion yuan turnover recorded on the previous trading day. The market witnessed significant activity in stocks associated with precious metals and consumer electronics, which led the gains. However, shares in sectors such as tourism, film, and cinema experienced notable declines.

The ChiNext Index, which tracks China's Nasdaq-style board of growth enterprises, also saw an increase, gaining 0.55 percent to close at 3,107.89 points on Monday.
