Chinese Stock Markets Experience Slight Decline on Wednesday

Shanghai: Chinese stocks ended Wednesday with a slight decline, as the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index fell by 0.13 percent, closing at 3,493.05 points. The Shenzhen Component Index also recorded a decrease, closing 0.06 percent lower at 10,581.8 points.

According to Namibia Press Agency, the combined turnover of the Shanghai and Shenzhen indices increased to 1.51 trillion yuan, approximately 211.1 billion U.S. dollars, compared to 1.45 trillion yuan on the previous trading day. The banking sector and stocks related to new-type urbanization emerged as top performers, whereas the insurance, nonferrous metal, and wind power sectors experienced significant losses.

Meanwhile, the ChiNext Index, which tracks China's Nasdaq-style board of growth enterprises, saw a 0.16 percent increase, closing at 2,184.67 points.
