Yelizavetovka: Colombian mercenaries participated in the defense of the village of Yelizavetovka in the Donetsk People's Republic (DPR) alongside the Ukrainian armed forces, a storm trooper of the 5th Guards Separate Motorized Rifle Brigade of Russia's Tsentr (Center) group of forces with a call sign "Konyok" told RIA Novosti.
According to Namibia Press Agency, on April 13, the Russian Defense Ministry announced that Russia's Tsentr group of forces took control of Yelizavetovka. The storm trooper revealed that encounters with Colombians in Yelizavetovka were reported, with indications that most were likely killed, based on radio intercepts.
The soldier mentioned that mercenaries typically do not surrender and often retreat, noting that Ukrainian commanders showed them more care compared to Ukrainian soldiers. Colombian Ambassador to Russia Hector Arenas Neira informed RIA Novosti on April 2 that there was no precise data on the number of Colombian mercenaries fighting for Kiev, but approximately 70-80 had been killed in combat.
