Two commercial farmers were allegedly attacked by their employee at Farm Tana Safari and Campsite, situated about 35 kilometres south of Otjiwarongo, Wednesday morning.

The Namibian Police Force’s (NamPol) crime investigations coordinator in the Otjozondjupa Region, Deputy Commissioner Naukalemo Andreas, in an interview with Nampa on Thursday said the victims are a couple aged 58 and 48.

“We acted promptly upon receiving the report and we then arrested the 22-year-old suspect, who was still busy harassing them on the farm,” said Andreas.

The 58-year-old man was attacked first and his left leg was fractured, while the woman had a broken nose and her right eye was swollen.

Police officers were still determining the motive behind the attack, Andreas said.

The victims were taken to a hospital in Otjiwarongo on Wednesday, where they received medical attention.

Police investigations continue.
