CRAN Appoints Bridget Ellen Dundee as Economics Manager

Windhoek: The Communications Regulatory Authority of Namibia (CRAN) has appointed Bridget Ellen Dundee as its new Manager: Economics and Market Development, effective 06 July 2026. In a media statement issued on Monday, CRAN announced that Dundee will lead economic and market research in the communications sector to support evidence-based regulatory decisions, monitor market competition, and drive initiatives aimed at promoting sustainable growth, fair market access, and improved outcomes for information and communication technology (ICT) consumers.

According to Namibia Press Agency, Dundee joins CRAN's management team with over 10 years of experience in industrial economics, regulatory research, and international development. She previously held the position of Director: Economics and Sector Research at the Namibian Competition Commission, where she led the development and enforcement of competition regulations. Most recently, Dundee served as Programme Policy Officer: Markets and Financial Systems at the United Nations World Food Programme, managing donor partnerships and government engagement on social protection programmes.

Commenting on her new role, Dundee expressed her enthusiasm for contributing to the growth of Namibia's communications sector. 'It is a privilege to join CRAN at such an important time for Namibia's communications sector. I look forward to applying my experience in economic research and regulation to support the authority's efforts to build a competitive and consumer-focused market,' she said.

CRAN Chief Executive Officer, Emilia Nghikembua, welcomed Dundee's appointment, highlighting her valuable expertise in economic policy, market regulation, and stakeholder engagement. 'Dundee's depth of experience makes her a valuable addition to our leadership team. We look forward to her contribution towards strengthening economic research and market development at CRAN,' Nghikembua stated.

According to the statement, Dundee holds a Master of Business Administration specialising in Management Strategy, Economics, and Project Management, along with a Postgraduate Diploma in Education specialising in Economics, both from the University of Namibia. She also possesses a Bachelor of Economics Honours degree from the University of the Western Cape and a Bachelor of Economics degree from the University of Namibia. Furthermore, she completed an Executive Management Development Programme at Stellenbosch University.
