CVA successfully concludes first round

The Central Volleyball Association (CVA) successfully concluded its first-round matches of both men and women’s leagues this past weekend.

In the men’s final first-round fixtures, the Namibian Defence Force (NDF) overcame the Namibia University of Science and Technology (NUST) by a 3-0 set victory, while the City of Windhoek (CoW) accounted for Afrocat D by a similar win.

In their second match of the day, NUST redeemed themselves by beating Heritage 3-1 and NDF continued their fine form by beating Afrocat D 3-0 in the final game of the day.

With the conclusion of the first round matches, Khomas NamPol Volleyball Club (KNVC) lead the log with 28 points from 10 matches, followed by NDF A with 26 points and Kudos on third with 23 points.

In fourth place is City of Windhoek with 20 points followed by NDF B with 19 points in fifth, and in the sixth place is Afrocat with the same number of points.

Seventh place belongs to UNAM on 18 points with Afrocat in eighth place with eight points, while NUST is ninth with seven points.

Kings are 10th and Heritage are at 11 with six and four points respectively at the bottom of the log.

In the women’s league, Kudos lead the log with 19 points from seven games, followed by Revival who also has 19 points in second, while NDF is third with 17 points and KNVC in fourth place with 15 points.

Afrocat is fifth on eight points followed by NamPol Otjozondjupa on four points in the sixth position.

University of Namibia and NUST anchor the log (position seventh and eighth) on three points each.

The second round is expected to begin on 17 June with its conclusion scheduled for 13 August before the start of the Bank Windhoek Namibia Volleyball Federation Cup.
