Death Toll Rises to 15 in North India Multi-Vehicle Collision

New delhi: The death toll from Tuesday's multi-vehicle collision has risen to 15, with around 48 people injured, local police confirmed by phone. The catastrophic accident involved up to seven buses and three cars, which collided amidst heavy fog, causing the vehicles to catch fire and leading to numerous casualties.

According to Namibia Press Agency, only three of the bodies have been identified so far, although efforts are underway to contact the families of all the deceased and injured. A local police officer mentioned that the deceased bodies were burnt beyond recognition and have been shifted to a mortuary. A few of the injured remain in critical condition.

The officer further stated that the buses and other vehicles that caught fire were traveling from Delhi to various destinations, including areas in the eastern parts of Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh.
