The Ministry of Defence Force and Veterans Affairs, have warned members of the public not to fall for a scam recruitment advert circulating on social media and asking people to pay to be recruited.

In a recent interview with Nampa, the ministry’s head of Public Relations and Communication, Colonel Peter Shilumbu, said the ministry is currently not recruiting, and when such development arises within the ministry, it does not require anyone to make any payment. ‘It is thus a scam and members of the public should be very careful not to fall for such practices by unscrupulous individuals,’ he said.

He said when the ministry is recruiting, the massage is communicated to the public through various media outlets like newspapers, radios and the ministry’s official social media pages and website.

‘This is the second time such an advert is circulating and we have alerted the public out there to be careful with this and made it clear that we are not recruiting. We have also uploaded the fake advert on the ministry’s social media pages where we refuted that there is no recruitment currently until the ministry pronounces itself,’ said Shilumbu.
