Eheke: The Namibian Police Force on Friday officially commissioned the new Eheke C-Class police station and launched the 2025/2026 festive season operations in the Oshana Region under the theme, 'Zero tolerance for crime, a peaceful festive season for all.'
According to Namibia Press Agency, the regional commander for Oshana, Commissioner Naftal Lungameni Sakaria, stated that the new facility represents growth, empowerment, and progress following years of community patience and cooperation. Sakaria emphasized that the Eheke police station is now fully housed on its land and infrastructure, marking the beginning of a new era in policing defined by efficiency, visibility, accountability, and community partnership.
Sakaria outlined the strengths and capacity of the newly commissioned police station. The station now has eight police officers, including three females and five males. It has been equipped with a new high-performance police vehicle to ensure rapid movement and improved response times. The station also features a full computer set and essential office equipment for efficient case management and administration. Importantly, Eheke Police Station now has a dedicated investigator to ensure proper handling of criminal cases and pursuit of justice.
He further explained that the festive season operation aims to protect the lives and property of all residents and visitors in the region. The operations are designed to enable everyone to enjoy the festive season peacefully and responsibly.
Sakaria mentioned that 145 additional police officers have been drawn from various divisions, sub-divisions, stations, and specialized units across the region to support festive season deployment. The regional fleet has also been expanded with seven additional vehicles to enhance patrols, rapid response, and visibility.
