Finance Minister Unveils N.dollars 106.3 Billion National Budget Focusing on Key Sectors

Windhoek: Minister of Finance Ericah Shafudah presented the N.dollars 106.3 billion national budget in Parliament, emphasizing priorities such as economic development, social protection, and domestic food production. Shafudah highlighted that the budget allocations primarily aim to sustain ongoing government operations while addressing emerging challenges.



According to Namibia Press Agency, the Office of the President received an allocation of N.dollars 1.5 billion, while the Office of the Prime Minister was allocated N.dollars 636 million. The National Assembly was allocated N.dollars 398.2 million, and the Office of the Auditor-General received N.dollars 131.7 million.



The Ministry of International Relations and Trade was allotted N.dollars 1.2 billion. The Ministry of Defence and Veterans’ Affairs received significant allocations, with N.dollars 7.5 billion for Defence and N.dollars 1.5 billion for Veterans’ Affairs.



The Ministry of Finance and Social Grants Management was allocated N.dollars 14.6 billion, including N.dollars 7.2 billion for social grants. Other allocations include N.dollars 140.3 million for the National Council and N.dollars 12.3 billion for the Ministry of Health and Social Services.



The Ministry of Justice and Labour Relations received N.dollars 494.1 million for Justice and N.dollars 250.2 million for Labour Relations. The Ministry of Mines, Energy and Industry was allocated N.dollars 939.5 million, while the Ministry of Urban and Rural Development received N.dollars 2.7 billion.



Allocations for the Ministry of Environment, Forestry and Tourism stood at N.dollars 797.6 million, and the Office of the Judiciary received N.dollars 601 million. The Ministry of Works and Transport was allocated N.dollars 805.3 million for Works and N.dollars 2.7 billion for Transport.



The National Planning Commission received N.dollars 371.6 million, while the Ministry of Education, Innovation, Youth, Sport, National Service, Arts and Culture was allocated N.dollars 24.8 billion for Education, Innovation, Arts and Culture, and N.dollars 1.3 billion for Sport, Youth and National Service.



The Electoral Commission of Namibia (ECN) received N.dollars 648.7 million, and the Ministry of Information and Communication Technology was allocated N.dollars 898.5 million. The Anti-Corruption Commission was allocated N.dollars 116.5 million, and the Office of the Attorney-General received N.dollars 269.2 million.



The Ministry of Gender Equality and Child Welfare was allocated N.dollars 473.6 million. The Ministry of Agriculture, Land Reform, Water and Marine Resources was allocated N.dollars 2.6 billion for Agriculture and Land Reform, and N.dollars 956.5 million for Water and Marine Resources. Finally, the Ministry of Home Affairs, Immigration, Safety and Security received N.dollars 7.9 billion.
