Fraudster Steals Over N.dollars 1 Million from Bank Account

Omusati Region: The police in the Omusati Region are investigating a case of fraud after an unknown individual allegedly stole N.dollars 1.1 million from a 60-year-old woman's bank account last week. The incident has left the victim in distress and highlights the growing concerns over banking security in the region.

According to Namibia Press Agency, the Namibian Police Force's Regional Commander for Omusati, Commissioner Ismael Basson, reported that the incident took place at an unspecified time between Wednesday and Friday. The funds were illicitly withdrawn from a bank account held at First National Bank (FNB) in Outapi.

The method used by the suspect to access the victim's account remains unknown, but it is confirmed that the stolen money was transferred to various other FNB accounts. The authorities are currently working to identify the perpetrator and recover the stolen funds.

Commissioner Basson stated that none of the stolen money has been retrieved so far. Police investigations are ongoing as they endeavor to track down the suspect and ensure the safety of bank account holders in the region.
