Oshakati: Oshana Regional Governor Hofni Iipinge on Friday donated 22 full sets of school uniforms to learners at Engombe Junior Primary School in the Uuvudhiya Constituency, as part of efforts to support vulnerable learners in remote areas of the region.

According to Namibia Press Agency, during the official handover, Iipinge stated that the donation was aimed at restoring dignity among learners and encouraging school attendance in rural areas that are often neglected. He emphasized the importance of making education attractive to young learners living in remote areas, where schools often face challenges due to their location.

Iipinge highlighted that the initiative aligns with the 8th Administration’s priority of providing quality and inclusive education. He stressed that all learners, regardless of their location, should benefit from the country’s resources. He noted that this effort is part of a broader response to ensuring quality education for all learners.

Acting school principal Henock Amupadhi expressed appreciation for the donation, acknowledging it as a significant support for the learners at Engombe Junior Primary School. He thanked the governor and expressed hope that similar support would be extended to other schools facing similar challenges.

Each learner received a pair of shoes, a shirt, trousers or a skirt, and a pair of socks, contributing to their educational well-being.
