Windhoek: The High Commission of India in Windhoek is set to host its inaugural Indian tea exhibition at Grove Mall from September 03 to September 09, 2026. The event aims to showcase the rich heritage, cultural significance, and diverse varieties of Indian tea, featuring renowned types from Assam, Darjeeling, and Nilgiri.

According to Namibia Press Agency, the exhibition will offer visitors an in-depth exploration of the fascinating journey of Indian tea. The High Commission emphasized in a statement released on Tuesday that attendees will gain insights into India's tea cultivation, processing, and consumption traditions. The exhibition will also highlight the tea sector's vital role in supporting livelihoods, fostering rural development, and boosting trade and exports.

Open to the public, diplomatic corps, business community, academics, students, and friends of India, the exhibition seeks to promote greater awareness of India's cultural and economic contributions in Namibia. The High Commission noted that this initiative is part of its broader efforts to strengthen people-to-people and commercial ties between the two nations.

Visitors will have the opportunity to learn about the distinctive characteristics of various Indian teas and the unique geographical regions where they are cultivated, providing a comprehensive understanding of India's tea legacy.
