India’s Chief of Defense Staff Receives Eight-Month Extension

New delhi: The Indian government has extended the tenure of Chief of Defense Staff (CDS) General Anil Chauhan by eight months, officials said Thursday. The approval for the extension was granted by the government's Appointments Committee of the Cabinet on Wednesday night.

According to Namibia Press Agency, General Anil Chauhan, 64, was appointed as CDS on September 28, 2022. His current stint was scheduled to end on September 30 this year.
