Indonesia is showcasing its hidden gem tourism destinations to foreign tourists and tourism business players at the Wonderful Indonesia Tourism Fair, organized by the Indonesian Tourism Industry Association in Jakarta from Wednesday to Friday this week.

“Indonesia has many hidden gem tourist destinations. Whether you are looking for attractions, culture, or nature in rural areas, we have it all,” said Budi Tirtawisata, chairman of the Steering Committee for the Fair, on Wednesday.

The exhibition is being attended by 195 foreign business representatives, including travel agents, tour operators, and companies in the tourism sector from 38 countries in Asia, the Pacific, Europe, America, and Africa.

In addition to showcasing Indonesia’s tourism offerings, the fair also serves as a networking platform for foreign business players in the tourism sector.

The number of foreign tourists arriving in Indonesia rose by 18.30 percent year-on-year to 1.34 million in August, primarily from Malaysia (14.09 percent), Au
stralia (11.47 percent), and China (9.41 percent).
