Porto alegre: Internacional manager Roger Machado was sacked on Sunday following a 3-2 home defeat to local rivals Gremio in Brazil's Serie A. The loss added to a string of poor performances, marking the club's sixth defeat in its last seven games across all competitions.According to Namibia Press Agency, club president Alessandro Barcellos announced the decision to dismiss Machado, stating, "We'd like to inform you that we've made the decision to dismiss Roger Machado." Barcellos acknowledged the challenging nature of the decision, noting, "It's always a difficult time; everyone who works at the club knows that changing a coach is rarely seen as a positive thing."In the interim, assistant coach Pablo Fernandez will take on the managerial role while the club searches for a permanent replacement. Machado, who took charge in July last year, led Internacional to 34 wins, 20 draws, and 19 losses during his tenure.Internacional is renowned as one of Brazil's most successful football clubs, boasting three Bra zilian Serie A titles and two Copa Libertadores crowns.
