Iran Sees Russia’s Role as Crucial in Nuclear Discussions

Moscow: Tehran is confident that Moscow will play an important role in the Iranian nuclear issue in light of the Iran-US talks, Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmaeil Baqaei told RIA Novosti. "We believe that in the future, Russia will continue to play an important role in the Iranian nuclear issue. Now, at the initial stages of the Iran-US dialogue, we have not yet gone into specific details with Washington to be able to give an accurate forecast on nuclear issues, but, of course, we always remember the positive and constructive role of Russia, and we think that our Russian friends are also ready to play their constructive role again when necessary," Baqaei said.

According to Namibia Press Agency, Iran's confidence in Russia's involvement comes amidst ongoing discussions between Iran and the United States. While specific details have yet to be discussed with Washington, Iran recalls Russia's historically positive influence in past negotiations. The Iranian Foreign Ministry expressed its belief that Russia remains prepared to engage constructively when required in the ongoing dialogue.
