Japan Clinches Women’s Softball Asia Cup Title After Rain Cancellation

Tokyo: Japan retained its women's softball Asia Cup crown after both the final and bronze medal games were cancelled due to rain. The final rankings were determined based on the preliminary standings.

According to Namibia Press Agency, World No. 1 Japan dominated the round-robin stage with a perfect 9-0 record. Host nation China secured second place with an 8-1 record, clinching an 8-4 victory over Chinese Taipei, who finished third with a 7-2 record. The Philippines claimed the fourth spot with a 6-3 finish.

The top three teams, Japan, China, and Chinese Taipei, have earned berths at the 2026 World Cup, which will be co-hosted by the Czech Republic, Peru, and the United States.

In addition to serving as a qualifier for the World Cup, the tournament also determined participants for the 2026 Asian Games. South Korea, Hong Kong, Singapore, and Thailand joined the top four teams in securing their places for the upcoming competition.
