The government of Japan has funded the construction of two blocks of classrooms worth N . dollars 2 . 4 million at schools in the Oshikoto and Omusati regions . The blocks with four classrooms and one storeroom each were handed over to Onalulago Combined School in Oshikoto ' s Oniipa Constituency and Ontanda Primary School in Omusati ' s Tsandi Constituency on Thursday . Japan ' s Ambassador to Namibia , Hisao Nishimaki , said during the official handing over of the classrooms at Onalulago Combined School that they have constructed more than 300 classrooms in Namibia since 1997 and over 20 classrooms are currently under construction . ' A total of N . dollars 77 million have been used to carry out 93 projects , of which 73 have been related to school building construction ,' said Nishimaki . He added that there two ongoing school construction projects in the Kavango East and Zambezi regions . Oshikoto Governor Penda Ya Ndakolo said the donation is more than just infrastructure , and is an investment in the f uture of the learners . ' Education is the cornerstone of development and by expanding the learning environment of Onalulago Combined School , you have contributed to shaping the minds and lives of our future leaders ,' Ya Ndakolo said . The Oshikoto Regional Directorate of Education , Arts and Culture ' s deputy director , Tomas Kalimbo , said the gesture came at the right time . ' We are grappling with a shortage of educational infrastructure including classrooms , administration blocks , laboratories , hostels and a lot more … I can assure you that this donation will make a difference in the education of learners at this school now and for many years to come ,' Kalimbo said .
