Lao President Engages in Talks with Senior Chinese Official

Vientiane: Thongloun Sisoulith, general secretary of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party (LPRP) Central Committee and Lao president, held a meeting with Li Shulei, a member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee and head of the Publicity Department of the CPC Central Committee, on Tuesday.

According to Namibia Press Agency, Li Shulei, who led a CPC delegation to Laos, emphasized the progress in China-Laos relations and the development of a China-Laos community with a shared future. He highlighted the achievements and benefits that have been realized for both nations. Li stated that China is prepared to collaborate with Laos to implement the consensus reached by leaders from both countries. This includes enhancing cooperation in economy, trade, media, culture, and tourism, and building a high-standard China-Laos community with a shared future.

Thongloun Sisoulith expressed Laos' intent to enhance exchanges with China regarding theories and experiences in governance. He also mentioned the aim to deepen practical cooperation across various sectors, efficiently manage the China-Laos Railway, and promote the ongoing development of bilateral relations for the benefit of both countries and their citizens.

During his visit, Li Shulei met with Kikeo Khaykhamphithoune, a member of the Political Bureau of the LPRP Central Committee and deputy prime minister of Laos. He also held discussions with Khamphanh Pheuyavong, a member of the Secretariat of the LPRP Central Committee and head of the Propaganda and Training Board of the LPRP Central Committee.
