Moscow: A magnitude 6.4 earthquake struck southeast of Khujand, Tajikistan, as reported by the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC). The seismic event took place on Sunday at 4:24 GMT, with the epicenter positioned more than 170 kilometers from Khujand, a city home to over 198,000 residents. The earthquake's epicenter was recorded at a depth of 16 kilometers.

According to Namibia Press Agency, there have been no reports of casualties or property damage following the earthquake. The region remains on alert as authorities assess the situation. Earlier on the same day, other seismic activities were noted, with earthquakes of magnitudes 5.5 and 5.7 occurring in central Myanmar and off the coast of Papua New Guinea, respectively.
