Katima mulilo: The Namport Zambezi Regional Second Division Football League resumed its second half of the season with a packed fixture list this past weekend, seeing all 12 participating clubs compete in two matches each rather than the standard single game.According to Namibia Press Agency, the double-header provided a gruelling test for players as the league entered its second week following a two-week mid-season pause. The break served as a crucial reset for the clubs as they began their final sprint toward the season finale scheduled for 15 June 2026.Bush Bucks Football Club entered the weekend holding a narrow lead at the top of the table, bolstered by a 2-0 victory over second-placed Oryza Sativa FC the previous week which brought them to 28 points. However, the league leaders saw their winning streak snapped on Saturday, suffering a major 1-0 upset at the hands of a formidable Blue Chiefs. The setback was compounded on Sunday at the UNAM Sports Field, where Bush Bucks were held to a 0-0 draw by Bl ack Buffaloes.The results leave Bush Bucks at the top of the log with 29 points. Oryza Sativa failed to take full advantage of the leaders' stumble. While they secured a 1-0 win against Black Buffaloes on Saturday, they were soundly defeated 3-0 by Blue Chiefs on Sunday.At the Katima Mulilo Sports Complex, third-placed Shooting Stars recorded back-to-back draws, finishing 3-3 against Namib Chiefs on Saturday and 1-1 against Bright Stars on Sunday. Other action saw Roccano King Rangers thrash bottom-placed Real Cheetahs 3-1, while Bright Stars secured a 2-1 victory over Space Age FC.Sunday's fixtures also included a 2-2 draw between Roccano King Rangers and Zambezi Sporting Academy, and another 2-2 stalemate between Namib Chiefs and Space Age. In a notable result at the bottom of the table, Real Cheetahs found their form to hammer Green Eagles 2-0.
