Windhoek: A 33-year-old man reportedly hanged himself at Lyangwe village near Bukalo on Thursday. The incident was confirmed by the Namibian Police Force's (NamPol) Zambezi Regional Commander, Commissioner Julia Sakuwa-Neo, who said the deceased has been identified as Mukungu Ronic Lyomba. His next of kin have been informed. An inquest docket has been opened at the Ngoma Police Station in connection with the matter, Sakuwa-Neo said.

According to Namibia Press Agency, the commander also reported another incident where a 21-year-old man is expected to appear in the Katima Mulilo Magistrate's Court on Friday. This follows allegations that he stabbed a 52-year-old Zambian man to death with a traditional knife. The incident occurred around 20h00 on Wednesday at Shifuwe village in the Muketela area of the Sibbinda Constituency.

'It is alleged that the 21-year-old Zambian man stabbed the 52-year-old Zambian man in the stomach. The victim was transported to the Katima Mulilo State Hospital for treatment but succumbed to his injuries on Thursday,' stated Sakuwa-Neo. The deceased has been identified as Nalishebo Manyando, and his next of kin have been informed. Police investigations in both matters continue.
