Windhoek: A 43-year-old man was arrested at Otjiwarongo on Sunday for allegedly raping a 15-year-old girl. The incident reportedly took place at a guesthouse last Wednesday and involved a girl who is in Grade 8 at Karundu Junior Secondary School.According to Namibia Press Agency, Senior Inspector Maureen Mbeha, Head of Community Affairs in the Otjozondjupa Region, stated that medical examinations were conducted on the girl Thursday morning, and a detailed report is in the possession of the authorities. The State has opened a case on behalf of the girl.The suspect is expected to make his first appearance in the Otjiwarongo Magistrate's Court on Tuesday. Police investigations into the matter are ongoing.
