Nkurenkuru: A 57-year-old man is being detained at the Nkurenkuru Police Station following allegations of rape involving a 13-year-old girl at Wini village in the Kavango West Region. Chief Inspector Raimbert Muronga confirmed the incident, saying it reportedly occurred around 17h00 on Monday.

According to Namibia Press Agency, it is alleged that the suspect found the victim in the bush and had sexual intercourse with her without her consent. The suspect, whose identity has not been released pending court proceedings, remains in custody at Nkurenkuru Police Station.

He is expected to make his first court appearance soon. Police investigations into the matter continue.
