Katima mulilo: A 28-year-old male suspect is expected to appear in the Katima Mulilo Magistrate’s Court on Monday after he was charged by the Namibian Police Force (NamPol) with housebreaking with intent to commit rape and rape. The incident allegedly occurred at Dairy Compound at around 04h00 on Saturday.

According to Namibia Press Agency, it is alleged that the suspect forced open the main door of the house, found the victim asleep in her bed, and had sexual intercourse with her without her consent. The report details that after the incident, the suspect fell from the victim’s bed half-naked and overslept until later when the victim awoke. Upon discovering the suspect, she alerted her neighbors, who found him still sleeping on the floor half-dressed. The victim reportedly did not hear or feel the suspect during the assault as she was asleep.

The victim is a 21-year-old woman who also resides at Dairy Compound. NamPol stated that the victim was taken for a medical examination and the scene was photographed
by a member of the scene of crime unit.
