Okakarara: An adult man was discovered dead under a tree in Okakarara early Monday morning, allegedly struck by lightning. The incident occurred during a rainstorm, and the man was found lying on his stomach with his T-shirt partially burned.

According to Namibia Press Agency, the Namibian Police Force (NamPol) head of community affairs in the Otjozondjupa Region, Senior Inspector Maureen Mbeha, reported that the man has not yet been identified as no identification documents were found on him. The discovery was made at approximately 01h00, and parts of his body also showed signs of burns, consistent with a lightning strike.

The deceased's cellphone and several items packed in plastic bags were discovered near his body. An inquest docket has been opened at the Okakarara Police Station, and police investigations into the matter are ongoing.
