Man Dies in Hospital After Alleged Assault in Katutura

Katutura: A 31-year-old man named Vilho Ambondo has succumbed to injuries in a hospital following an alleged assault involving a metal object in Katutura, Windhoek, on Saturday.

According to Namibia Press Agency, the Namibian Police Force released a weekend crime report on Sunday, confirming that the suspect linked to the attack is still at large. Although the report did not elaborate on the specifics of the incident or its exact location, it confirmed that investigations are ongoing. The victim's family has been notified of his passing.

In a separate incident, during the early hours of Saturday, intruders reportedly broke into a residence in Kleine Kuppe. The suspects, described as wearing balaclavas and gloves, are accused of holding the homeowners hostage and stealing various items. The police report indicated that the suspects tied up the homeowner's son using shoelaces and detained the homeowner while demanding money. They then ransacked the property, taking gadgets and personal belongings.

Additionally, two more housebreaking incidents occurred on Friday. One took place in the Klein Windhoek area, resulting in the theft of a mountain bike, Bosch drill, grinding machine, jigsaw, and other personal items. The other incident happened at Brakwater, where personal belongings were also stolen. Despite ongoing investigations, no items have been recovered, and no arrests have been made in connection with any of the housebreaking cases.
