Okangororosa: A 20-year-old man has been arrested for allegedly stabbing another 20-year-old man to death at Okangororosa village in the Oshikoto Region's Omuthiya Constituency. The incident reportedly took place early Monday morning.

According to Namibia Press Agency, the Namibian Police Force's Crime Investigations Coordinator for the Oshikoto Region, Deputy Commissioner Titus Ekandjo, stated that the incident occurred around 03h00. The deceased was identified as Haiyaka Tangeniomwene, a resident of Ehafo village in the Ohangwena Region.

Ekandjo revealed that the suspect, an Angolan national from Ohameke village in Ondjiva, Angola, was involved in a conflict with the deceased and other young men at a local cucashop. The situation escalated into a confrontation between two opposing groups.

'Tangeniomwene allegedly hit the suspect on his eye,' Ekandjo said. In retaliation, the suspect reportedly drew an Okapi knife and stabbed Tangeniomwene in the chest twice, resulting in his immediate death.

Tangeniomwene's body was subsequently transported to the Omuthiya Police Mortuary for a postmortem examination. The suspect has been apprehended and is expected to face charges in the Ondangwa Magistrate's Court on Tuesday.
