Karasburg: A 48-year-old man is set to appear in the Karasburg Magistrate's Court on Monday after he allegedly raped his 18-year-old daughter on a farm near Karasburg.

According to Namibia Press Agency, the Namibian Police Force's Crime Investigations Coordinator for the ||Kharas Region, Deputy Commissioner Nicodemus Mbango, reported on Sunday that it is alleged the suspect had sexual intercourse with the girl under coercive circumstances.

The incident reportedly occurred Saturday night when the girl awoke to find her father on top of her. She attempted to push him away, but the suspect allegedly continued. Afterward, he allegedly threatened her with a sjambok, a type of whip, if she resisted further.

The girl has claimed that this was not the first time her father had raped her. Police investigations into the matter are ongoing.
