Windhoek: Exhibitors at the 13th Namibia Mining Expo and Conference have highlighted the event as an important platform for engaging stakeholders, showcasing projects, and strengthening collaboration within the mining sector. The three-day expo and conference opened in Windhoek on Tuesday and will conclude on Thursday.

According to Namibia Press Agency, B2Gold Namibia Managing Director John Roos, speaking on the sidelines of the event on Tuesday, emphasized the company's focus on stakeholder engagement and providing updates on its Antelope project. "The reason we are really here is to engage with stakeholders, and this year it is very important for us to talk about our Antelope project, which is really the future for B2Gold in Namibia. We are really excited about that," Roos said.

R¶ssing Uranium, another exhibitor, is utilizing the expo to engage with various stakeholders, including learners and the general public. The company's Advisor for Corporate Communication, Fikameni Mathias, stated that the event allows them to showcase their operations and offer career guidance. "We are here to tell our story and to engage. What we bring this year is reassurance that R¶ssing is here to stay. We are here to engage students through career guidance, meet contractors interested in doing business with us, and interact with other industry players to learn from one another and share our experiences," Mathias said.

Swakop Uranium's Deputy Head of Department Winnie Mukupuki expressed enthusiasm for participating in this year's expo, anticipating interactions with business partners, stakeholders, and the public. "It's really exciting to be here. We have a large team that has joined us, and we are looking forward to meeting students, external stakeholders and members of the public to showcase what we are doing and the impact we are making," Mukupuki noted.

Navachab Gold Mine Public Relations Officer Tuafi Shafombabi highlighted the company's eagerness to connect with visitors, focusing on investment, procurement, and career opportunities. "Let's engage, let's communicate and find out what makes you tick. Our HR team is here to provide information on internship opportunities and what Navachab has to offer," Shafombabi said.

President Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah is set to deliver the keynote address at the official opening of the expo on Wednesday.
