Ulaanbaatar: Mongolia on Friday celebrated World Savings Day, which was first marked in the country in 2017. The month-long campaign aimed to foster a culture of saving among the population, according to the Bank of Mongolia.
According to Namibia Press Agency, this year, the campaign was launched under the slogan "Build Your Dreams with Savings," featuring training and advocacy activities across Mongolia. The initiative seeks to encourage citizens to prioritize savings as a way to achieve personal and financial goals.
As of September 2025, the total amount of deposits in Mongolia has reached 28.5 trillion Mongolian tugriks (7.9 billion U.S. dollars). Compared to the same period in 2019, this represents an increase of about 110 percent. This growth in savings is contributing to economic stability and expanding resources in the banking and financial sector. As a result, there is an increase in the availability of loans and the creation of conditions for lower interest rates.
