Katima Mulilo: The Katima Mulilo District Court on Monday afternoon postponed the case of a 52-year-old man, Nico Mutakalilumo, to 04 June 2025 for a plea and formal bail application.

According to Namibia Press Agency, Mutakalilumo was arrested last week following an incident in which he allegedly stole his ex-girlfriend's vehicle and drove off, while the victim was on the vehicle's rear bumper, causing her to fall off.

The State, represented by Precious Ilunga, indicated that the charges Mutakalilumo faces are serious and include assault with intent to cause grievous bodily harm (GBH), read with the provisions of the Domestic Violence Act (Act 4 of 2003), theft of a motor vehicle, and malicious damage to property.

Mutakalilumo was represented by Bernhard Tjatjara and Co Legal Practitioners. His lawyer informed the court that they are ready to proceed with the matter and, if 'Council' could grant them the opportunity during the course of the week, they are prepared to proceed before 04 June.
