Sibbinda: A new administration block constructed by the Namibian Ports Authority (Namport) was inaugurated at the Muketela Primary School in the Sibbinda Constituency of the Zambezi Region. The building was completed at a cost of N.dollars 1,141,000 under Namport's Social Investment Fund and includes a principal's office, staffroom, storeroom, and reception area.

According to Namibia Press Agency, NSIF Trustee Alushe Hitula, present at the inauguration, encouraged the community to utilize the new facility as a foundation for quality education that prioritizes the hopes of both learners and teachers. She expressed hope for the future of the Muketela learners as she handed over the keys to the new block.

Zambezi Region Education Director, Alex Sikume, conveyed gratitude to Namport for their investment in the region's educational future. In his speech, delivered on his behalf, he highlighted that the new facility symbolizes a joint commitment to educational and community development. Sikume emphasized the need for proper maintenance of the building to ensure it remains a beacon of excellence and service.

School Principal Olga Puteho, who initiated the funding request three years ago, called for more corporate support, noting the school's infrastructure has not been updated since its inception in 1982. She cited the urgent need for a secure perimeter fence and classroom upgrades due to the school's exposure to wild animals from the nearby Bamunu Conservancy.
