The first-ever Namibia Fourth Industrial Revolution Conference and Expo will be held in Windhoek from 07-08 June 2022, the Presidency announced on Thursday.

On 01 July 2021, President Hage Geingob appointed an eight-member Namibia Fourth Industrial Revolution task force, which along with other stakeholders, will host the first Namibia Fourth Industrial Revolution Conference and Expo, Press Secretary Dr Alfredo Hengari said in a media statement.

The event will be held under the theme ‘Fourth Industrial Revolution as an enabler of green and inclusive industrialisation’.

Set out under the Economic Advancement Pillar of the Harambee Prosperity Plan Two, the task force is tasked with conducting a country assessment on the readiness of Namibia for the Fourth Industrial Revolution.

Hengari said this is done to make recommendations towards a coherent policy and legislative framework.

The conference and expo will be opened by the president and is expected to host local, regional and international delegates.

“The official opening on 08 June 2022 will be preceded by an exposition on 07 June 2022 which will be open to the public from 10h00 to 17h00. The expo will showcase emerging technologies from various sectors while providing a networking and public education platform,” said Hengari.
