Windhoek:The Namibia Investment Promotion and Development Board (NIPDB) has launched an Exporters' Guide designed to assist businesses in navigating export procedures and accessing both regional and international markets.According to NAMPA, the guide was introduced by NIPDB's Acting Chief Executive Officer, Julia Muetudhana, and serves as a practical resource for businesses. It is particularly aimed at micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) and emerging exporters, providing them with insights into export procedures, documentation, regulations, logistics, and market access.Muetudhana highlighted Namibia's significant export potential, noting that merchandise exports are projected to reach approximately N$125.7 billion in 2025, marking a 7.6% increase from the previous year. However, she emphasized that Namibia's exports are still concentrated in a few key commodities and markets. To enhance this potential, Namibia aims to increase exports to N$168 billion by 2030. This growth target will require div ersification, value addition, and access to new markets. Muetudhana stressed that export growth involves not just increasing sales but also diversifying products and markets, increasing local value addition, and advancing up the value chain.NIPDB is committed to supporting export-led growth through initiatives such as the High Potential Pool, market intelligence, policy advocacy, and business advisory services. Muetudhana noted that Namibian MSMEs have begun accessing markets in countries like Botswana, Zambia, and China, particularly in sectors such as cosmetology, agro-processing, and manufacturing. The success of the guide will depend on how businesses utilize it to identify and act on opportunities. Muetudhana called for collaborative efforts from the government, institutions, and the private sector to strengthen Namibia's export sector and enable effective participation in regional and international markets. The guide is available on the NIPDB website and will be complemented by capacity-building ses sions and webinars offering practical advice on export-related topics.
