Moscow: The number of anti-Semitic incidents in the Netherlands hit a record high of 421 in 2024, a report by the Center for Information and Documentation Israel (CIDI) revealed on Thursday.

According to Namibia Press Agency, the report highlights a concerning trend, noting an 11% increase compared to 2023, which was previously considered the highest on record. This makes the 2024 figure the highest number recorded in the 40 years since CIDI began tracking these incidents, suggesting a significant rise in anti-Semitic activities in the country.

The report further outlines that from 2012 to 2022, the average number of incidents reported annually was 138, indicating a 305% increase over the last two years. This stark rise points to an accelerating trend of anti-Semitism in the Netherlands.

In 2024, CIDI received approximately 1,700 complaints, with a quarter classified as incidents of undeniable anti-Semitic nature. The organization noted that this figure does not include incidents occurring on social media or those involving criticism of Israel.

Data from the report also indicate a 45% increase in anti-Semitic attacks in public places. Additionally, acts of vandalism against Jewish sites, including historical ones, rose by 44%, further underscoring the gravity of the situation in the Netherlands.
