Okongo Woman Arrested for Alleged Murder of Brother

Okongo: A 24-year-old woman has been arrested after she reportedly stabbed to death her 30-year-old brother at Oshikuni village in the Okongo Constituency of the Ohangwena region. The Namibian Police Force (NamPol) Ohangwena Regional Commander, Commissioner Ottilie Kashuupulwa, confirmed the incident, stating it occurred in the early hours of Sunday. The deceased has been identified as Tomas Abraham.

According to Namibia Press Agency, Commissioner Kashuupulwa explained that the suspect returned home from a cucashop in the evening and found her brother sleeping in their mother's room. She allegedly began verbally abusing their mother. When the deceased intervened and asked her to stop, she reportedly ignored him and continued with the insults, escalating into an argument between the siblings.

In the heat of the altercation, the suspect allegedly grabbed a knife and stabbed her brother once in the chest, resulting in his immediate death. The deceased's body has been transported to the Okongo Police Mortuary for a post-mortem examination.

His next of kin have been informed, and the suspect is expected to appear before the Eenhana Magistrate's Court next week. Police investigations into the matter continue.
