Windhoek: Omaheke Second Division champions, Omaheke Sports Club (SC), are confident of doing well in the Southern Stream First Division League (SSFDL) playoffs set for Mariental this weekend. The Gobabis-based team is drawn in the same group with Bee Bob Brothers, Celtic FC, City Boys, and Quiver FC in the SSFDL promotion playoffs.
According to Namibia Press Agency, team manager Gottfried Maritshane expressed that the Gobabis-based team is prepared and ready to represent the region with pride. "We have the full backing of the region, and the mood in the camp is positive. Our players are injury free and free from suspension," said Maritshane. He added that the players understand the team's long-term objective, which is to play in the Premier League. "These playoffs are an opportunity to bring the first division league to the Omaheke Region, and I am confident considering their potential," he said.
Meanwhile, Meno Tjahuha, the team's coach, stated that the players have trained well and studied their opponents' style of play, indicating that it will not pose a problem in Mariental. "We trained twice per day, the spirit in the camp is superb, and we aim for glory in Mariental. We aim beyond playoffs to win promotion to the elite league in future. This is our gateway to the premier league and the Omaheke supporters must rally behind us as always," he appealed.
Tjahuha emphasized that the team is ready and determined to win the promotion playoff and advance to the first division next season. The promotion playoffs are expected to conclude on Sunday.
