Oshana: The Namibian Police Force (Nampol) in the Oshana and Ohangwena regions is investigating several deaths recorded over the festive period.
According to Namibia Press Agency, the long weekend crime report availed to Nampa on Sunday detailed several incidents. The lifeless body of Hamola Fillipus, a 73-year-old man, was discovered lying on his back on Wednesday at about 16h00 at the Onawa complex at Eenhana. It is alleged that the deceased suffered from a medical condition.
In a separate incident on Thursday, the lifeless body of Elizabeth Haulumbu, a 45-year-old woman, was found lying in mud at around 08h00 at Opalasha location, also in Eenhana. No foul play is suspected.
Shilongo Martha, a 65-year-old Namibian woman, died at her home on Friday at about 05h15 at Ongula village in Omaalala. It is alleged that Martha suffered from a medical condition.
In another unrelated case, a one-year-and-eight-month-old toddler, Erastus Enkono Iileka, died at home on Friday after reportedly falling ill on Wednesday. The incident occurred at Iitota village.
It is alleged that Valombola Salom, a one-year-old boy, died on Saturday at approximately 04h00 at Omalapapa village in a hut where he was sleeping. No foul play is suspected in any of the cases.
The next of kin have been informed of their deaths and police investigations continue.
