Ondonga Traditional Authority (OTA) chairperson, John Walenga has said traditional leaders from the Ondonga kingdom are not allowed to wear party colours or spearhead any political party activities, as they serve everyone.

Walenga in an interview with Nampa on Tuesday said the OTA is home to all aspiring politicians and politicians from various political parties, and the traditional leaders from various ranks serve everyone.

He said their leaders are there to serve the communities, but not lead any political functions.

Walenga said that if any traditional leader is found heading any rally, they will be called in for a hearing and the outcome will determine the way forward.

‘We want to be there for everybody and represent everyone fairly,’ he said.

He urged community members to report any traditional leader from OTA that is seen heading political functions.

‘Traditional leaders from OTA are not allowed to openly and publicly disclose their political parties, but they can attend political events,’ said W
alenga.

He noted that the leaders are also not allowed to spearhead any church gatherings.
